While Vietnam is widely known for phở and bánh mì, its traditional clothing is equally vibrant and deeply rooted in cultural heritage. As a diverse nation with 54 ethnic groups, each community preserves its own unique traditions, values, languages, and culture. To honor this richness, I developed an original 32-page illustrated book titled “Thổ Cẩm: Traditional Clothing of Ethnic Vietnamese Women,” which highlights the attire of 14 ethnic groups in the hope of sharing the beauty of Vietnam’s cultural heritage with a global audience. The mediums I used for this project are mainly watercolor, gouache, with digital tools for the pattern design.
