This piece highlights the loneliness and isolation often experienced by elders. As society progresses and life moves forward, time seems to stand still for them. Inspired by my experiences growing up in Vietnam, where I have witnessed elders often left behind and viewed as burdens, I wanted to explore this quiet passage of time that seems to have abandoned them. While rooted in Vietnamese culture, the work reflects a universal feeling, as elders everywhere face a higher risk of social isolation and loneliness.
