This piece highlights the loneliness and isolation elders often experience. As society progresses and life moves forward, time seems to stand still for them. Inspired by the artist's experiences growing up in Vietnam, where she often saw elders left behind and viewed as burdens, she wanted to explore this quiet passage of time that seems to have abandoned them. While rooted in Vietnamese culture, the work reflects a universal feeling, as elders everywhere face a higher risk of social isolation and loneliness.
